Athlete Eligibility

ARTICLE V

Membership

Section 1: All NEPSAC member schools shall be eligible for membership in NEPSSA.

Section 2: Schools participating in NEPSAC Swimming & Diving Championship Meets must be members of NEPSSA. To be considered a member a NEPSSA, the school and team must meet all of the following criteria.

  1. The school must be a member of NEPSAC.
  2. The school’s team must be sponsored by and operate under the leadership of the school.
  3. The coach of each school must be appointed by and responsible to the Head of School or his/her appointed representative.
  4. The school must have a Varsity swimming program with a regular practice schedule and school uniforms.
  5. The school must provide transportation for the team to and from its contests.
  6. The team must have competed against at least two (2) other NEPSSA member teams during the season.

Addendum to athlete eligibility, October 2017

  • It is the expectation of the league that athletes who compete in our meets also practice with our teams. If these athletes are involved in USA programs, those are only for supplemental training.
  • It is a violation of our by-laws (Article II, Section 2) for athletes to primarily practice with another team and compete in regular season or championship meets.
